Dear colleagues,

I wonder if anybody can enlighten me in respect of Qing artillery.

Especially in respect of "long pao" (Dragon cannon - I met this type of cannon in description of Albazin sieges as the main type of QIng artilery except for "jianjun pao" and "hongyi pao") - what kind of cannon was this one? what were the peculiarities of its construction, range, type of ammo etc.?

Also all data regarding Qing artillery would be highly appreciated.

Best regards,

Alexey.

Thank you a lot. I have akready got aquainted with that site. Even I found some Russian cannons (artefacts) of 1750-s alike the Qing "hongyi pao" smile.gif

But in this case we can not understand the real ratio of traditional cannons and European style cannons and artillery tactics in XVII century.

Especially I am looking for "long pao" used in Amur region against Cossaks.

Best regards,

Alexey.
