QUOTE
While there are numerous types of crossbows, to the best of this inventor's knowledge, there has never been an invention such as this which is capable of rapid and easy cocking and automatic loading of bolt after bolt. In this inventor's experience, every device that has been designed to attempt to provide for a semi-automatic, rapid firing crossbow has failed in this attempt in that they are not really semi-automatic nor rapid firing primarily because they are hard to c**k. This problem stems from the fact that for a crossbow to be effective it must have a powerful prod, bow, that requires substantial effort to c**k. Secondly, previous crossbows had only the capacity for single shot use, necessitating a long reloading time. A third and substantial draw back of previous devices has been the bulky shape and heavy weight associated with them.

Exactly what is unique about this supposed invention?
I thought the ChuKoNu did all this (in a more rudimentary way, perhaps).

The pictures of it looks different from the Zhugenu but the principle is the same, though probably closer to the theoretical warring states multibolt crossbow. Someone should just contact the US patent office with a photo of the Zhugenu.

You should do it really, you would best be able to explain.

Someone even patented a flying car. http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?...RS=PN/6,960,975

Well there are several differences between the Zhuge crossbow and this thing. Assuming this thing actually works the biggest difference is the use of springs to return the bow to the firing position and pulleys to decrease the amount of strength needed to prepare the crossbow, but preserving the pentrating power of the bolt. Also the spring loaded bolt is considerably different from the Zhuge crossbow and is more similar to the magazines of modern guns. Plus this patents has been filed over 20 years ago so it doesn't look like this device has gotten to much use.
