Don't think I can. And I don't think sword forum of all places would be a place to go for this kind of thing.
The problem is that although weight distribution and overall blade variation does make a difference, there is no martial arts today that specifically uses the Yanlingdao. So no reliable comparison can be made really.

What other swords have a reverse curved hilt? It's a very interesting scimitar look-a-like.

The benfit of having the curve on the handle is becuse it fits nicely into the palm when the hand wraps around it. The area of your palm isn't a cylinder shape the areas inside your pinky actually is larger than the area of your your index. Because chinese daos generally are a single handed weapon, the curve makes sense. Of course, it is not always the case. Both civilian and military have examples that doesn't employ the curve handle.
Although not 'curved'. but the design of most swords around the world take this into account by fattening certain areas of the grip.

What I find interesting about the Yanmaodao and the Liuyedao is the way they're curved. They look as though they would be both a great cutting sword and a thrusting sword, since it appears as though the sword is shaped like the curve of a bow, where the tip of the sword is on a line tangent to the maximum curve of the hilt.

Are there any diagrams of the shape of these two swords?
