Does anyone out there know where I can get reproduction Qing/Manchu armour? I am living in China, and find it to be extremly difficult to find any Qing dynasty, or Manchurian things here.
Thanks,
Scott

Have you tried searching on the net?

Of course, but have had no luck. If you could help point me, I would be really grateful. I have a number of Qing Dynasty weapons, and clothing, but would like to find a reproduction suit of armor

Have you tried asking museum?

i've only seen two reproductions of Chinese armor. One is a unaccurate reproduction of 5 dynasties ten kingdoms era armor and the other is a Sarmatian version of Liangdang armor

as far as Qing brigandine armor repros, never seen any.

If you have access to an exploded view of it, there are plenty of armourers in the US that could make it for you. Even with period techniques, if you're willing to pay for it.

I'm actually looking for an exploded view so I can get the layering right with the silk padding and all the other pieces, myself.

Visit eBay at: Ebay.com

Enter a search for Chinese armor.

Several pieces of reproduction Chinese armor from various periods in history should come up. Some people who are selling armor are living in the United States. If you search carefully, you will find that there are some Chinese stores based in the PRC which are using eBay to market their merchandise.

Please note that the prices at eBay are geared towards Westerners. If you contact the manufacturing companies directly, you might be able to get a better price.

Prices from products currently available on eBay range from $325.00 up to $2,000 or even more. The more expensive pieces are being advertised as "antiques" but I think these are reproductions and not actually antiques.

Here is a set of armor being sold from Beijing for $499.00.

Here is another set being sold from a store in China for $561.14.

ebay repuduction kinda sucks, just as a warning.

I could contact my friend doing this as a job to find out if he makes it.

I got a Takeda armor for $15000USD, which was used in the Furin Kazan, NHK Taiga Drama.

And I also got a Roman Legio XX Valeria Victrix Legionary set for $8000USD.

the reason I don't get Chinese armor is that there are no model for them.

I could ask for you.

and btw what's your price limit?
RollingWave
