This sword of Chosun Kingdom(AD 1392 ~ 1896) was made in very specific Year, Month, Date, Time of Tiger for killing Demon and Ghost. Length is 134.5cm.

Granted by the King to a royal guard general. The hilt and sheath were finished using black color and decorated using white copper. The sword guard was decorated using a ghost pattern. In addition, the head of the sword was decorated using a Yeouimun which is a type of Chinese Hwageom. A tiger pattern was carved on the body of the sword in which 27 letters were craved on one side and the Phoenix and 28 constellations were carved at the other side.

Granted to a royal guard general by the King. The Phoenix was carved on one side of the body and certain words, which were written in a Chinese traditional calligraphic style, for the Samingeom were carved on the other side. Decoration of the hilt was fabricated using bronze. The sword guard was carved using a Yeonhwamun and the end of the hilt was a type of Wundu. The hilt was fabricated using silver on cast iron in which a geometrical-shaped Dangchomun was damascened using silver on one side and the word 'Samingeom' was finely damascened using silver for the swords name on the other side.

Granted to a royal guard general by the King. The Phoenix and 28 astronomic symbols were carved on one side and 27 characters, which were written in a Chinese traditional calligraphic style, were carved on the other side. Instead of the Hoin, a 卍 shaped pattern was written on one side and lattice patterns were precisely carved on the other side.

Scabbard length: 65.8 cm
Government manufactured. An Okgubodo worn for ceremonial purposes in a royal palace and similar to that of the Okgugeom used in China. A flower pattern was painted using gold on the base of the sheath and the hilt that was painted using red lacquer. Also, the external part including detailed metal accessories and wearing decorations were decorated using silver.

Privately manufactured. Used for self-protection of the noble and civil officers. The hilt and sheath were totally covered using a fish skin and finished using bronze. The horn of a rhino that symbolizes riches and honors as an auspicious pattern was carved on one side, and the letter of Boryonggeom was carved as an intaglio on the other side.

Privately manufactured. Used for a self-protection in the Yangban. The hilt and sheath was finished using black lacquer and white copper. The decoration of the entrance of the sheath was a pattern that symbolizes the male and female principle and that was carved at the above and below of the flower pattern.

Privately manufactured. Used as a walking stick in ordinary times but could also be used as a weapon. Was largely used for private purposes. The hilt and sheath were fabricated using wood and finished using black lacquer. The decoration was made of copper. The blade was a type of double-edged sword that was very thin and sharp like a Western fencing sword.

Period: Pre-1800
Origin: Sulu Archipelago, Philippines
This kris is of an archaic style, from the period when the Philippines was transitioning from the Indonesian/Malay style of keris to a more robust, uniquely Moro form. Laminated steel blade with an ôarrowö design chiseled near the hilt. Hilt is carved wood with a small kakatua pommel and brass fittings.

Maguindanao or maranao tribe. Datu class, excellent silver encased
horse-hoof style hilt decorated with very intricate okir designs. Blade is laminated, also with okir deisgns.
Although made for a Datu, or chieftain, this sword is fully functional as a weapon. Scabbard has silver bands. Please note the crossguard is made out of the rare banati wood, prized for its tiger stripe like burls.

Type: Shandigan barung
Ethnic group: Tausug or Samal
The swollen edge and leaf-shaped blade identifies this sword as a shandigan barung. The blade has been etched with a weak acid solution to reveal the laminated steel pattern and evidence of an inserted hardened cutting edge. The hilt has a banati wood pommel and a silver punto or ferrule. The pommel is a large, flamboyant example of the kaktua style of hilt, called junggayan. The junggayan hilt is reserved for prominent Moro dignitaries such as datu.

Barong.
Tausug tribe, Jolo Island, Southern Philippines, Belonged to datu and is a rare ceremonial type. Damascus steel blade. Junggayan pommel is kamagong wood with scrolled okir top tail and beak, and large ivory inlays. Below pommel are three sections of chased silver divided by three sections of braided silver, with brass section below. Scabbard is made of brown wood burl.

Provenance: Dr. Joseph Link from Buffalo, NY who was a staff medical officer under General MacArthur in the Philippines died in 1999.

Moro Wars turn of the century.
Shows battle damage on the cutting edge and a bullet wound on the face of the blade. A testimony to the strength of laminated steel. Rattan wrapping with finer woven rattan bands above; simple carving at the pommell

Panabas
Moro (Maguindanao tribe?), Mindanao Island.
Damascus blade in scimitar form, double edged with one edge having a spine with 15 "X" carved talismans. Narra wood handle has one half lighter and one half-darker, with 3 white brass bands separated by black lacquered cord. Scabbard is breakaway style of plain wood. Belonged to datu entourage and is generally known to be an executioner's sword. According to Cato, this form of panabas is relatively scarce.

blade inlaid with silver dots near tip . Hilt may represent either a Crocodile or the bird called a Swift (bird's nest soup variety) . Undulating steel staple as hand guard.

Rare Mandaya floriform paneled spear head.
This exceptional piece was exhibited at the Pan American Exposition 1904.
A seldom seen spear head of the Mandaya people of East Mindanao made of finely watered steel ; this piece originally from the collection of the Philippine Provisional Governor U.S. General Harold Bandholtz. Probably collected after General Pershing's order # 11 to disarm the local tribes.
Blade Length: 31.2 cm
Shaft length: Shafts not included. When mounted this spear is approximately 274 cm long. Shaft wood is Palma Brava with forged iron conical cap at the end.

Black Jade Dagger-Axe
Period: Western Zhou (B.C.1046- B.C.770)
Collection: Sanmenxia Museum
Dimensions: Length 14.0 cm, yuan width 1.8 cm, tang length 1.9 cm.
The dagger-axe is iron-grey in colour. The point is in an isosceles triangle shape, and in the inner part of the yuan are barely visible ridges. It is not edged. The end and the main part of the yuan are of the same width. A peg-hole can be found on the main part of the yuan. The tang is narrower than the yuan.

Dimensions: Length 45.2 cm, yuan width 8.9 cm, tang length 10.7 cm.
This is a large weapon of deep and shallow yellow colouring resulting from moisture. The side point is triangular and the main part of the yuan has a round peg-hole. On the upper main part of the yuan, there are four little jigsaw-like holes as decorations.

Jade knife with ring pommel
Period: Western Zhou (B.C.1046- B.C.770)
Collection: Sanmenxia Museum
Dimensions: Height 11.7 cm, width 2.0 cm, depth 0.2 cm.
The knife is made of green jade and is coloured ice green. It is partly affected by moisture with yellowish-brown and black spots and flecks. The jade is delicate and slightly translucent. The edge is sharp but with many tiny chips.

Bronze Knife with Ring Pommel
Period: Shang Dynasty
Collection: Sanmenxia Museum
Dimensions: Length 22.6 cm, hilt length 8.0 cm, width 3.2 cm, thick 0.4 cm.

The knife has a round pommel, the hilt is narrow and the back slightly bends downwards. The point of the knife rises upwards and the middle part of the edge is slightly concave. It is in good condition.

Dagger-Axe. Pommel with Chinese Character
Period: Shang Dynasty (B.C.1600-B.C.1046)
Collection: Henan Museum
Dimensions: Length 34.5 cm, yuan length 22.5 cm, yuan width 6.2 cm.
This is an animal shaped curved tang dagger-axe without a lan. It is large and the yuan is stripe-shaped. The upper edge is slightly concave while the lower edge is slightly convex. The point is triangular and the yuan has a mid-ridge without a lan at the back of the yuan. The inner front part is narrow while the back features a hollowed out beaked bird, with a short body and tail. The two faces of the body of the bird are basically the same but one face appears to have a Chinese character and yuan.

Bronze Knife with Ox Head
Period: Shang Dynasty

Dimensions: Length 33.0 cm, edge width 4.0 cm, hilt length 12.0 cm.

The bow-shaped knife is cast of bronze. The ridge is wide and thick and gradually forms an edge. The front end of the edge is sharp and tapers to a point. The back end becomes progressively wider. The hilt is hollow with a cord pattern. The pommel is an ox head.

Bronze Sword
Period: Warring States Period (B.C.475-B.C.221)
Collection: Zhengzhou Museum.
Dimensions: Length 74.5 cm, hilt length 9.0 cm.

This sword has a long-stripe shape. The middle of the blade is ridged and angled on top. It has a sharp point and edge. There is a flat grip with no cross-guard or pommel. This kind of sword was already popular in the early Western Zhou Dynasty. A special feature of the sword in later periods is that the blade was lengthened. The late Spring and Autumn Period to the Warring States Period is the time in which bronze swords flourished. The popularity of iron swords in the Han Dynasty led to the eventual abandonment of bronze swords.

The sword has a round pommel and grip, which has two parallel convex hoops. In the middle of the sword is a convex ridge. It also has a triangular point.
