Found some pictures/design of chinese armour from the internet. Can someone comment whether they are historically accurate?

Lol, the illustrations are all over the chinese internet. I found them from google. If the designers says no posting elsewhere, he shouldn't have posted it on the internet. Anyway, those illustrations already indicated the source so there is no accusation of plagarisim :haha:

One thing I'm not sure is whether the colours of the armour are correct. The armours depicted are very colourful and nice, but are they are truly so in actual history ?

I highly doubt the Song armors were really purple. but Qing brigadanes (expensive onces anyway) were colored based on which banner they belong to.

I am sure these are just artwork exaggeration, nonetheless must have some historical basis.

I've been looking for something like this for ages... XD

These armors seem to vary from infantry to heavy cavalry to imperial guard to those reserved for emperors/generals...etc
The early imperial dynasty armors look fairly accurate to me.

As for some slight exaggerations, at least it's not as bad as Hollywood ridiculously portraying all Roman soldiers of every era as wearing the lorica segmentata. :P

Looks accurate throughout. I am least familiar with Song and perhaps colors might be off. The Tang ones are thought to be ceremonial or parade armors. We can see more generic silvery contemporary depictions of Tang soldiers elsewhere

What happened to the real examples of armor? Being made of metal I suppose rust would take over and nothing would be left....but still...
