I got myself a digital tablet.

MUAHAHAHAHA!!!
It arrived today.
I have changed my avatar as a result. Need to practice on hapless dinosaurs before I move on to something more cereal.

Cool. Mine is a Graphire 2 4x5 Come to think of it I probably had it for more than 4 years.Only 512 levels of sensitivity.

Install the software if you haven't already it will allow you to customise the tablet to how you prefer to use it. You can easily switch between the draw area being relatively to the screen, or being absolute depending on where the pointer is.

Working it more...this is the effect at 1:02 AM...

Posted Image
Notice that the shadow for the horse and the rest of the picture is inversed.
I want the light source to be on the left side.
But I did the horse way before.
So I am restarting the horse shadow part...
But before I make myself depressed I work on the face first.

Its kinda hard. I chose to use DODGE and BURN instead of various skin tones. DODGE + BURN ist da beste.

Posted Image

Work at 1:56 AM. Deleted the horse shadow layer. Will have to work more latter...
Going to sleepsh now. Very confident that I can be part of a PS team now.
Maybe ditch Genetics and Plant Biology. Go amateur for Chinese Historical Comic Series.

I love the way the armor has turned out.

The Job is done.

I added some cloud rendering to replace the plain background.
And a Lens Flare for good measure.

Thank you very much, Seph. I finally have a picture of a charging cataphract! From the stirrup and the very fancy jisheng at the back, I assume it's Northern Dynasties?

kowtowing to Seph. Thanks for full-qual version. ^_^

The cloth in the back ... was that only done with burn and dodge?
"The total amount of undesired sex endured by women is probably greater in marriage than in prostitution."

"The man who says his wife can't take a joke, forgets that she took him." -Oscar Wilde

There's a way of transferring funds that is even faster than electronic banking. It's called marriage. (all relations to the image below is strictly coincidental)

Yes. Burn and dodge are two very important tools I employ.

Do the burning and dodging in two steps. First you have to know where the light is coming from of course.

1. Then you start doing the burn and dodge on individual plumage feathers etc
2. Then zoom out to see the whole picture, increase the burn/dodge area size and do a general sweep so that there's an overall cohesive effect
